When you hear food “curry” what is on your mind? Chicken curry is a very popular dishes which, mostly Filipinos know to cook in a curry is only chicken meat. Squid curry dishes is mostly serve in Thailand and Malaysia. The curry dishes inspiration is actually from Thailand.
I underestimated the power of curry in cooking. All I know is chicken curry however, when I searched pinoy squid recipes, the very common dish is squid adobo. On searching squid curry, it was interesting to see photos in google, found out that most of them cooked by Malaysian and Thai.
What makes curry special is the aroma. You can tell by smelling the curry aroma which makes me really hungry
. I have decided to cook Squid Curry Pinoy Style.
It is very simple and easy to cook but, a lot of spices to mix up. In a medium casserole with canola oil and butter, stir sliced onions, pound garlic, sliced carrots, sliced bell pepper, tomatoes and squid in 3 minutes. Add mc cormick curry powder, chili powder, white pepper, water, maggi magic sarap and salt (stir). Cook the squid or until it is tender. You may add curry and other spices according to your taste.
To prepare in the table, I boiled two eggs, cool them, shelled out and sliced into two.
Wallah! The spiciness and richness of flavors are perfect for the squid. We love it.

Great! I was searching for a recipe for squid and I found this! It’s a very good alternative for the usual adobong pusit. I’ve cooked it for lunch and it was awesome. I wasn’t able to remove the ink so it’s more black than your version, but it’s creamy nonetheless. I also added some thinly sliced potato and it worked just fine!
Thank you for sharing this.
