How I preserve meat without a fridge? I would less care if I have to market everyday and just pick fresh meat. I get so tired going to market everyday and likely waste money for fare and time. I have a lot things to do beside cooking and preparing food on the table. My husband though help me less in cutting veggies, washing the dishes, and cook rice but, that is not the point. As a wife, I should know how to handle money if you know it is not enough. So, I have to do something. Yes, I am learning now. Of course that’s women do.
I started how to budget money buy cosidering how you can make a 1 kilo of meat serve four special meals. That is keeping a bought 1 kilo meat in four days without a fridge. Interesting! Okay wives let’s get thing happen!
This is what I did after I got an advice from manang our new neighbor and this part, my mother didn’t taught me. The key ingredient is Salt and vinegar. I know right, and it’s cheap. All I could think of is how to preserve meat because I wasted one fourth kilo meat bought 4 days ago and it smell stinky.
Three (3) days ago, I bought 1 kilo of Monterey pork-chop meat and salted them overnight! lot of salt all over the meat. After 20 hours, washed, soaked them in vinegar and in a casserole you preheat them for 15 minutes. Add soy and worchestire sauce then put them in low heat until they become slightly tender. Cool them down after 15 minutes. You can keep the meat for four days.
Now, you can use the meat on diffent kind of dishes… Would you believe I have already did my day 1 and day 2 dish.
Day 1 is Sauted Meat in String beans and Eggplant
Day 2 is Watered Sayote and Eggplant with Meat.
